How Much Will I Receive?

Why might I receive a lump sum payment from the electricity company?

The Electricity Company has to have a legal right for their apparatus to be on or over your land. The legal right is usually either a Permanent Easement or an Annual Rental Agreement (Wayleave). If it is a Wayleave you can choose to terminate this Agreement and instruct the Electricity Company to remove their equipment from your property/land, they then have 3 options:

  1. Remove the equipment – Highly Unlikely
  2. Apply to the Government for a new 15 year Rental Agreement/Wayleave – Very time consuming and costly to the Electricity Company
  3. Agree to make a one off lump sum payment to the property owner for a Permanent Easement – Highly Likely

Is this equipment on or over your property, land or boundary?
